Illinois Universities & Colleges
need your help!
The ISU Faculty
Association encourages you to contact the governor in support of higher
education faculty and staff.
Ask her or him to reinstate funding to Illinois
State University -- and all state colleges and universities, and to ensure
the money is spent wisely.

Last year,
the state of Illinois reduced higher education funding by 10%. This year, the legislature has
approved cuts of over 8%.

Your children's future
and the future of the state depend on your taking action. Higher education is critical to success
as citizens in a democracy and to success in today's technological world.

Illinois is losing
outstanding faculty to other states where pay hasn't been frozen. Students suffer from reductions in
support for classroom activities. We
know that Illinoisans want outstanding and affordable public education, and
we're counting on you to tell the governor that the cuts have been too
deep!
Tell
the governor, "Eliminating the "administrative waste and
excess" at higher education institutions requires a specific plan. I encourage you to fully fund the Illinois Board of Higher
Education's Fiscal Year 2004 funding request."

The state has already approved a budget that cuts 8% from higher education. The veto session takes place this November. It's not too soon--please contact the governor right away!
